I want to wish my friend Richard Leonard all the best for the future and thank him for his work for the Labour, trade union and co-operative movement over the years.


I have known Richard for over twenty years, we first met when he was an official for my trade union the GMB.


Richard is a decent man who worked hard to promote the rights of workers both before and after he entered the Scottish Parliament.


I have worked with him on a number of campaigns and hope to do so again in the future.


I just want to say thank you to Richard for his work on behalf of our movement at what is clearly a very difficult time for us and wish him well for the future.
